Redcliffe Caves Bristol Doors Open Day

Bristol Doors Open Day

Bristol Doors Open Day is a once-a-year chance to look behind closed doors and discover the city’s hidden treasures. You can explore fascinating buildings, join guided tours and enjoy a range of events and activities – all free for the day. Join us for a fantastic celebration of Bristol’s history, architecture and culture.

Redcliffe Caves, manned by the Axbridge Caving Group, have been open as part of this event every year since 1995.

On 12 September 2015 Redcliffe Caves were open as part of Bristol Doors Open Day - The good weather brought out the crowds and Redcliffe Caves were very busy with a constant shuffling crowd of visitors from the cave entrance to the exit taking over 30 minutes to make the transition. We estimate that in the six hours the caves were open over 3,500 people visited the caves. (Photograph - Alan Gray)
